Story

In this 2020 Spring semester, I continued my internship with BTerrell Group, LLP. This is my second semester working with BTerrell Group. I am pursuing my master's degree in Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas and will graduate in May 2020. During this semester, I worked as an Accounting Analyst Intern. I was excited and grateful to continue to be a part of this wonderful team.

As an Accounting Analyst Intern, I was responsible for assisting with internal accounting works. I assisted management with creating and tracking budgets and forecasts, creating different reports, and maintained financial records. Apart from it, I also assisted Senior Certified Implementation Consultants in configuration, set-up, and data migration to a new financial system for clients. These may include doing data extractions, uploads, and reconciliations, identifying which transactions did not upload, determining the cause, and fixing the problems.

Besides, I also had the opportunity to become the project manager of my very first Sage Intacct Implementation project. This opportunity helped me both learned and grew a lot at the same time. Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the products and services our company provided, and what the entire progress of an implementation project looks like. Also, I have improved my project management ability through this opportunity. My team members were supportive all the time. My director and colleagues gave me a lot of help and precious advises during the entire process. Additionally, my confidence and professional skills improved due to this opportunity.

Last but not least, I felt grateful for having this experience at BTerrell Group. I want to thank the entire team for being very nice and supportive to me the entire time. Furthermore, thank you, Brian and Joe, for sponsoring me after my graduation this May. I am looking forward to experiencing and learning more together with BTerrell Group! #UTDMSACCT
